Sharples & Betamax Kid to compete as full time gaijin members of FRONTLINE roster {2014}

After their guest appearances at the Road to World Engine series of tournaments, British wrestlers Dave Spikey (aka The Betamax Kid) and “The Man” Ed Sharples have both signed full time contracts to appear in FRONTLINE.

Betamax Kid was eliminated in the first round of the Super Junior Kingdom tournament but did enough to endear himself to the fans and the FRONTLINE staff who have decided to give him a chance at making it in Japan. And, as part of the deal, his former partners from the Children of Xu (August Joyce & Benjamin Doi) have been offered guest appearances on some upcoming shows.

Sharples surprised everyone by getting to the final of the Nippon Crown tournament before losing to Kazuki Suzuki. His power and presence was an unexpected bonus for the tournament organisers and his performances have already drawn the attention of several groups within FRONTLINE.

It’s being reported that Suzuki was so impressed by his opponent that he wants Sharples to join Blood Circle as their first British member, while their heated rivals Gold House have also been considering making Sharples an offer to join them. Whether he takes either team up on their offers is yet to be determined.

The duo will be joining Tim Worthington and Black Dragon as the other full time gaijin on the FRONTLINE roster.
