OOKAMI NO CHI
Birthdate: 9th November, 1992
Theme Music: Gothic Knights – “Hungry Like the Wolf”
Weight: 73 kg
Height: 175 cm
Trapezius-length dark brown hair with a few dyed streaks of platinum blonde and blood red. Deep, warm brown eyes. She shares her uncle’s flattish face and high cheekbones, but lacks his strong chin. Firm, athletic build – good balance between muscular and feminine. Warm skin tone.
Black-and-grey tattoo of a wolf howling at the moon on her left bicep. While wrestling in Japan, she covers this over with a white bandage, held in place with red tape. Outside of Japan, she leaves it uncovered. She also has a small Buddhist sun over her sacrum, and the Chekhov quote “Don’t tell me the moon is shining,” in Japanese script, down her right forearm. These are both covered by her ring attire.
Wrestling attire: Short trunks and crossneck crop top, long combined boots + knee pads, wrist-to-elbow armbands. These are all in blood red. She has a black-and-white snarling wolf detail on the centre of the trunks, both front and back, and on her knees. The front of her top has a black wolf eyes emblem with red irises. Dark red “OOKAMI” down the side of the right boot, and her right armband. Dark red “狼” kanji down the side of the left boot, and left armband. Red palm and finger tape, narrow red band over right bicep, red sweatband around head with emblem of black wolf eyes with red irises. The sweatband goes under her hair, puffing her hair out.
- “Blood Moon” – Cobra clutch with bodyscissors.
- “Chasedown Bomb” – Canadian rack into an inverted northern lights bomb.
- No-hands springboard dropkick.
- Cradle DDT.
Traditional joshi all-rounder. She can fly, she can brawl, she can grapple, she can pull out power moves when she needs to; she’s a jack of all trades, master of none. She’s eager to learn new styles and will gladly welcome opponents of any discipline, in any kind of match, as it’s a chance to build experience.
She’s still inexperienced and that can trip her up. She’s not great at reading opponents’ tells and will frequently fall for feints and ruses.
Her greatest asset is also her biggest weakness – she never wrestles at anything less than full throttle. She comes out of the gate swinging with an all-out relentless assault and doesn’t stop, never giving quarter or breathing space. This makes her an intense opponent, but she is incapable of pacing herself and tires herself out relatively quickly.
Real name Noriko Ikeda, niece of the great Jun Ikeda. She was brought up in the affluent city of Ashiya, and was something of a teenage rebel – into loud music, late night parties and soft drugs. She has a few tattoos, wears punky clothes and rides a motorbike, none of which endear her to the more traditionalist elements of society but make her
a pin-up to like-minded youths.
As a teen she expressed a desire to follow in her uncle’s footsteps, and moved to Kobe to train at the prestigious Kansai Star Joshi Dojo, owned by multi-time World Champion Kazuko “Cannonball” Kayama. She won the K*J Junior Championship and the K*J Championship on one occasion each, and established herself as the top student of her graduating class.
Once she’d proven herself to him as a capable wrestler, Jun Ikeda sponsored her entry into FRONTLINE – her first noteworthy promotion.
